LG’s Optimus P3Q, the Q stands for QWERTY! Remember keyboards? At some point during the dawn of smart phones, the QWERTY keyboard was king. A four or five row keyboard attached to your new device was really the only way to go for most manufacturers. Some of the devices however started to appear in the wild with some rather unimpressive touch screens. Some of these touch screens needed a stylus, others shipped above a keyboard until ultimately, the touch screens were decent enough to stand on their own. That was when the mobile keyboard died! It looks like however, LG will be attempting to revitalize the QWERTY keyboard with their newly leaked Optimus F3Q!
It has been a while since we’ve seen a new smart phone crop up with an attached keyboard and the question still remains. Do people want QWERTY based devices? Today new details of a forth coming Android handset suggest LG and T-Mobile do indeed think consumers want physical buttons! EVleaks the infamous mobile insider has leaked a sneaky press rendering of an LG made T-Mobile bound QWERTY slider. The picture shows the device is clearly running Android Jelly Bean and connects via 4G LTE. Unfortunately however, the buck on specs and juicy details stops there, a bit of speculation however never hurt anyone…has it? Lets for a moment assume this new device takes after its namesake and is built along the same lines as the Optimus F3! A safe bet no? If so the new keyboard based device should come with a dual core processor, about 1 GB of RAM and a low quality WVGA touch screen that will measure in at around 4 inches. The original F3 also sported a 5 mega pixel camera as well as connectivity such as, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct and GPS. With that said, it is uncertain what the future holds of the Optimus F3Q, but if the device gets release at all we’d wager it would be rather similar in specs to the original F3 and be super affordable.
